Dell Inspiron 6400 Extreme:
... bought this as a laptop to take away to uni for my studies. It is very bulky, but that doesn t really bother me as it sits on a desk 90% of the time anyway. Dell Inspiron 6400 Extreme ... ve had mine for a year now and bought it directly from dell. I had windows xp loaded instead of vista and there was a charge of about £25 for that which I thought odd since xp is older than vista. The laptop is slim and looks good in silver. The screen is clear and bright although it needs to be dimmed whilst on battery otherwise it only lasts about an hour. And battery life is an issue. Over the year it has got increasingly shorter and I am now being warned with a pop up to buy a new battery since mine is almost gone. This will be ab extra expense. Dell Studio 17 ... have had this laptop for around a year now and it isnt the best laptop around even though I did get it cheaply, my one was the base version and although it did have better specifications it was let down by the buggy vista software. It is very heavy for a laptop although it wasn t intended to be taken out of the house hence the studio name. The integrated camera and mic are very useful for video chat applications many of which are free. The camera is very clear and crisp and eliminates the need for external cameras. Dell Studio 17 ... have had this laptop since christmas and it is brilliant. There are so many applications on it which keep you entertained. Everything is loaded at a very high speed so there is never a time where you find yourself waiting. The sound volume and quality are also excellent. The 17in wide screen is perfect for whether you are jus browsing on the internet or watchin a DVD. It is easy to use, the first time I got it I was able to just navigate my way round it without looking at the instruction manual. The only bad things I can say about it are that recently the battery has stopped charging so you have to keep it plugged in using the AC adapter but im sure this can be fixed....
