	Apple MacBook Pro MA092B/A ... a couple of hours updating / replacing software I'd ported over, the laptop started to run a lot better. So good, in fact, that i decided to give it a test running Windows XP in Parallels. All this did was highlight what I now suspect to be the biggest underlying problem with the default configuration of the earlier MacBookPro's - Lack of memory. Mine came with 512MB, and it really struggled with it. I've upgraded to 2GB, and it runs just fine. XP runs at native speeds, and even plays some games, although there's a shortage of integrated graphics support because it is ultimately software emulation. 	Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Xi 1526 ... that might not be always an advantage, but if you prefer to plug you own microphone, or speakers or headphones, there are ports for all those essential accessories on the left hand side. I use VoIP quite a lot and found out that integrated microphone works just fine. I use Skype and Voipstunt and didn’t have any problems as yet. Another thing is two stereo speakers placed on each side on just above the keyboard. Inside the computer there is a Realtek sound card responsible for decent sound quality. plus Realtek HD audio manager software which helps you to customize your audio experience regarding your needs. 	Toshiba Tecra M5 ... one day and refused to open just before the laptop was shutting down. Luckily like my PC it has a tiny little release hole where the size of a pin or blunt paper clip can be inserted to release the door. The door and CD holder itself travels with beautiful oiled precision but it doesn't feel particularly strong when loading an actual CD into it - but in this respect I've found it is average with most laptops in this respect. Sound Quality Laptop speakers have a genuinely bad reputation of sounding tinny and in this respect the Tecra M5 plays the same game.
