... will be keeping it for the time being and then I use the desktop PC anyway to play games on now with 1gb memory. As with any PC, remember to defrag the hard drive regularly as without doing so over time the disc heads will have to work harder jumping back and forth to find parts of files that have been fragmented about. Before the hard disc was replaced on our Acer we hadn't been doing this defragmenting task very much but now we do it almost every week so it is much smoother in operation....more

We got an Acer Aspire laptop in 2006. It has been ok but we've had to get the hard drive replaced once and the keyboard isn't very strong because a few of the keys have come out after regular use. In saying that, I do tend to hit the keyboard quite hard on occasion when playing certain games because I didn't have the joystick connected and that wasn't likely to have helped. I now connect an external USB keyboard as much as possible so as not to damage the keys further. It came with 512mb memory but 1gb+ would have been much better.
