Hi,

Late to this game, but I just wanted to add in my own experience.

I’m running Ubuntu 5.10 on an Acer Aspire 3002LCi laptop, and every now and again I get this lockup where Gnome just crashes and I’m dumped to an eternal list of these exact errors. They’re preceded by a number like XXXXXXX.XXXXXX, with the numbers to the left of the period increasing gradually and constantly. I’m forced to hold the power button to turn off.

It’s definitely gotta’ be SiS… They’re reputedly horrible with Linux compatibility. Wish I knew that before I bought this damn laptop.

Summary: i need the cheap laptop with good quality
