Advantages: Good price and reliable.

Disadvantages: Processor speed and hard drive capacity are not huge.

I don't own this lap top but I did source it for a relative who was looking for a good value for money Lap Top computer that would be used for home use.

The exact model I am reviewing is the Acer Aspire 3003LC which has a 15" TFT LCD screen, a 40GB Hard Drive, 256MB DDR and a Mobile AMD Sempron processor 3000.

I set up the Lap Top for him and also added software such as AVG anti virus and Windows Defender. I also periodically give the whole thing a general check over to see that its running efficiently by defragging the hard drive etc.

I think he has owned it for about two and a half years and in that time it has performed very well and caused very few if any problems.

It is not a lightning quick computer in my opinion but for general home use such as surfing the web, creating documents and digital camera usage it is ideal.

It also has a very nice crisp buttoned keyboard which I've noticed many of the budget level laps top do not have.
