Advantages: Excellent storage capacity and reliability

Disadvantages: flickering screen but it's not too bad.

Firstly I must say I didn't but my Acer laptop - It is a work laptop and I had no choice over the make or model. Having said this I am pretty happy with what I got! The Acer Aspire series, although not the most expensive of the Acer range, provide a reasonable level of performance. The HDD of 100GB is plenty big enough for all my work folders, my personal photo collection from about 30 holidays, my itunes collection and other bits and pieces. The reliability of the machine has been excellent. The 15.4" widescreen TFT screen displays colours which are vibrant and bright and this is even more apparent when producing displays and presentations for work. My one issue with the laptop is that sometimes the screen display flickers. I put this down to a faulty connection with some wiring on the hinges between the keyboard and the screen. It only takes a little adjustment of the screen angle and everything is fine again.

Summary: Good performance at a good price
