Excellent Budget Laptop - Perfect for Student Use. (Acer Aspire 5315)
Member Name: Lee24100
Advantages: Long battery life, light weight, crisp TFT display and cheap. Disadvantages: Vista is hard to adapt to.
I brought an Acer Aspire 5315 back in January 2008 for £299.99 (now priced at £279.99) from Play.com, after shopping around for a cheap yet effective laptop. It arrived promptly, the norm for Play purchases, and at first this was a shock to the system. Windows Vista is in many ways totally different to any Windows operating system going before it and will take some getting used to if you are used to using XP or anything before that. File sharing and network configuration are both made more difficult (but in turn become more secure) by Vista however should you be a little 'network-savvy' there are a number of tutorials on the internet which should be able to talk you through the process of getting your laptop connected to your network and your files shared over said network. Summary: Bargain sub £300 laptop.
