I have always used a desktop computer but decided that this was not practical in my small flat as we no longer had room for a computer desk etc. My husband decided to buy the Acer Aspire 5332 laptop for my birthday last year 2009.

He says that the reasons why he bought this particular laptop were
- Acer as a brand is well known and reliable for laptops
- the price was good
- 3GB memory

I was a little skeptical when I received the laptop (no offense to him) but I have been pleasantly surprised by the speed and the memory.

I am not a computer expert so I will not talk about GigaBytes and processors but I will talk about what I use the laptop for and the fitness for that purpose. For me this is the perfect laptop which I have used on a daily basis without break since september 2009 with no problems whatsoever.

I use the laptop predominately to browse the internet, internet shopping, checking emails, Facebook, to store photos and also to use Photoshop and other programs to maniplulate photos. I also design flyers and posters for events which is helped by the large screen. I also maintain a website for Salsa Classes in Leeds. I also use it on the odd occasion for work, mainly typing long documents. I find this laptop to be perfect for me.



The main ADVANTAGES for me are:-

- The laptop LOOKS good! The top of mine is a slightly blue colour.

- the laptop is easy to use/user friendly

- The keys are large enough to type on. I find the keyboard really easy to use and does not make too much noise when typing away.

- The screen is large but does suffer from glare if in sunny room or outside. This can be good for privacy though as the user can see the screen but people sitting nearby cannot.

- The biggest bonus is the laptop is quite light.

- I have never had any problems with the laptop crashing or being slow



The DISADVANTAGES for me are:-

- no indicator light that the capslock is on; this is a problem when typing case sensitve passwords on websites,

- the battery life is relatively short, even when on power save mode. I usually get around 2 hours. Not a problem if you are near a power source

- Word is not sold already on the laptop but I understand this is standard now and Word has to bought separately. I find that the Works Word Processor pre-installed on the laptop is sufficent and can be opened using Word if sending to someone without Works.
