I brought an Acer Aspire 5315 back in January 2008 for £299.99 (now priced at £279.99) from Play.com, after shopping around for a cheap yet effective laptop. It arrived promptly, the norm for Play purchases, and at first this was a shock to the system. Windows Vista is in many ways totally different to any Windows operating system going before it and will take some getting used to if you are used to using XP or anything before that. File sharing and network configuration are both made more difficult (but in turn become more secure) by Vista however should you be a little network-savvy there are a number of tutorials on the internet which should be able to talk you ...

I purchased my Acer Aspire 5315 from ASDA for £247 as I was looking for a cheap and cheerful second laptop for home. My other laptop is an Advent. When I initially unwrapped the packaging I was slightly disappointed with my purchase and instantly had that oh, you get what you pay for feeling. The inside looked slightly plasticky and cheap and I had a feeling the quality of the laptop would be second rate. However, after playing around with it for a few hours I actually prefer this to my old laptop. The screen is crystal clear and bright and I am used to the feeling of the keyboard now, and actually, using the old laptop felt strange. I m mainly using the Acer for web ...

I tend to favour Acer laptops for their reliability. The laptops I ve had in the past have never let me down and so far, this one hasn t either. I ve not had it long so I can t make grand statements about it, but thus far my experience with this one is very good. The screen is bright and vibrant and can still be seen in average daylight. The lid closes firmly and the whole build quality seems quite nice. I don t carry it around anywhere, but would imagine you could do so and not worry about its robustness. The keyboard feels firm and springy and typing on it feels quite nice. This unit comes with all the usual ports and networking/bluetooth facilities you d expect and I ...
