Good compact laptop that is light and easy to carry. Haven't experienced any significant problems with its functionality, running Windows 7 and all the hardware has worked fine for the last year and a half of ownership. Aesthetically attractive and smooth track pad that's good to the touch.
Given it's size and slight frame, however, I suspect it's not particularly hardy. A couple of months ago, a slight crack (hardly visible) appeared at the to of the screen, but it doesn't appear to be growing in size, and certainly does not affect my use of the laptop. The screen does not lock shut when you close the laptop, so it does sustain pressure when packed with other things, potentially leading to such damage. Just something to keep in mind though, that while this computer is build for portability in many ways, it is not the most physically hardy for the money outlay.
Still, none of the hardware components have been damaged otherwise, and the battery life has held up nicely for a year and a half and counting, despite constant use.
A good purchase.
Building on the achievements of the previous generation of Timeline laptops, Acer created the Aspire TimelineX series in the pursuit of the extreme: extreme performance, extreme battery life, extreme connectivity and extremely thin designs. With the Aspire TimelineX series there is no need of making compromises: you can have it all.
The original Aspire Timeline series was the first to break the 8-hour battery life barrier and the Aspire TimelineX matches that and adds extreme power straight out of the box.
