I got this laptop about a year ago to replace my old HP laptop which fell down the stairs and had a few motherboard problems. The laptop would randomly turn itself. I managed to get the laptop fix but then the hard drive failed so I had to buy a new hard drive. My mouse and screen later on had problems so I had to give it up and swap it with my uncle who fixes computers and laptops for the Acer Extensa 5325. I was very annoyed with the lost of my old laptop because I really liked that laptop and was much better in comparison to my Acer laptop.
The Acer 5235 is not the best laptop in the Acer section and its not the worst, but it comes under the low end laptops. It is installed with a Intel GMA 4500 graphics card, Windows 7, 1GB Ram, 160GB HDD. This laptop is ideal for students its not good for gaming but it is ideal for students who are using the laptop to surf the web and do school work. The laptop is also very light compared to all the other laptops I have owned this laptop is very very light.
A few problems I have noticed with this laptop is sometimes the mouse doesn't seem to move and you have to restart the laptop to fix it. Secondly I don't think the battery lasts as long as other laptops I have used in the past, I'm not sure if it is because of the applications running in the background or if its the laptop in general. Also I think the sound is a bit to quiet, I like to listen from my computers a lot and it bothers me when I can't play music out loud and have to use headphones.
I do not own this laptop anymore but it is a good laptop for a cheap price.
I previously had a Dell laptop which should have been fantastic as they are built when you order them, not left sitting around in stock rooms etc and they also cost more than these Acer laptops. However, I had nothing but problems with my Dell laptop, it would just switch itself off in the middle of me using it and sometimes would not allow me to switch it back on at all. When I eventually gave up on my Dell, I went a few months without a laptop at all as I didn't have the spare money to buy a new laptop as I had just moved house and city. Just before Christmas, I got bought this laptop as they were fairly cheap. At first I was a bit skeptical as the impression I had in my head of Acer was that they are just cheap laptops which wouldn't look very good or perform well so I thought it would do me until I had the money to buy a more expensive one. When I saw the laptop though, it looks just as good as any other brand laptop really, it's all black with a small silver acer logo. Also, when I switched the laptop on, it was really easy to set up (which is good for me as I'm not much good if anything goes wrong with technology!) and was easier to use than my Dell one. I've found it to be a good little laptop, I will probably still invest in a more expensive one with more features when I go on to do another professional accounting qualification as it will be more important to me then but for now this one is great for me to surf the net, watch videos on youtube, email, use itunes etc.
