      better than dells

Acer is a company that's growing stronger and stronger by the day, a few years ago I wouldn't have even considered buying an acer, but now acer are starting to over take dell in laptop sales and its mostly down to their fair prices, as well as their great build quality. Sure dell might still make better laptops, but acer are more the peoples laptop brand offering lots of variety at affordable prices. This so called gemstone design is anew one from acer and is being used in more and more of their laptops because of its popularity with customers. It does have split opinions however, some love it and some people really cant stand the look of it. I however think its great, its black and cream colour, with a lovely glossy lid looks cool and very neat and tidy. Also what I like about this Is its clearly a design that acer has come up with and kept, and it clearly represents their company. a lot of laptops from other manufacturers just look the same as others and you cant tell what brand they are, this however, much like the look of apples imacs you can tell they belong to which company. Only weighing 2.7 kg this is quite good for taking on the move as well. It also has a 2.5 hour battery life, which is pretty good but if you do want a laptop specifically designed for portability then this probably isn't the best bet. The keyboard is of a nice size, and the keys feel a nice size and quite spaced out too. This makes it a lot easier to type and you make a lot fewer mistakes then on a lot of laptops where the keyboards are just too small. This laptop has a Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 / 1.5 Ghz processor, this is quite a budget dual core processor, however its 2 gb of ram makes this a really fast and powerful laptop for its price. Another great thing about its ram is that even if you want to upgrade it then you can, me personally would probably stick with the 2 gb of ram already built into the laptop. The main reason being that the processor isn't that good and might not be able to handle the extra 2 gb of ram you do have the capability to put into this laptop. This laptop also has a fantastic 120 gb hard drive, which is well above the average and should be enough for anyone to store all their files on to. A little below the average size however is its screen size, it has a 14.1" TFT active matrix screen which is a little below the average screen size but it's a fantastic quality screen, The main reason being it has crystal bite technology built into it, this makes watching videos, looking at pictures and just general web browsing even better than before as it makes the images ob your screen brighter, sharper and just more realistic. I as was mentioning earlier, the reason why acer are outselling other brands at the moment is simply because there cheaper. this laptop is really cheap for a 2 gb of ram laptop and costs only £450, and if bought online you'll no doubt be able to get it for less and possibly £400. that's £400 for a 2 gb of ram laptop that also has 120 gb of hard drive, and that's the reason why acers such a good company as this spec is just something you could never get in dell laptops. Altogether this is a fantastic laptop, its even has lots of extra features like the 5 in 1 built in memory card reader which can read SD Memory Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, MultiMediaCard, xD-Picture Card. It even has a built in webcam at the top of the screen, this is only 0.3 Mega pixel and isn't the best quality, but its still there. In fact this laptop seems to have everything you'd expect in a laptop to spend over £1000 on, but its not, its only £400 and that the beauty of it.
