This is the first high spec laptop I ever bought and it has to be one of the best. It has only recently broke down after 5 years of solid service. The hard drive was the thing to go but before then it had survived the daily commute into the city and being in use ten hours a day.
The performance of the machine is very good and has the added bonus being being 64bit compatible which makes it future proof to any new software updates and very extendible with new ram etc.
The main selling feature is the dedicated graphics card which makes it an excellent gaming platform for internet gamers while also being powerful enough to do graphic intensive business work for example architecture or engineering. The design of the casing is perhaps not appropriate those for this application being in carbon fibre it is still not as bad as the previous ferrari red version.
The price today is very good value considering I paid double the Amazon linked price and for what you get for your money you are assured a winner. Acer get a name at times for building poor quality products but the Ferrari line does not suffer from this problem but beware customer service if something does go wrong is poor and it is very possible to have your laptop sent away for 6 months or more with little feedback of when you will see it again.
The only other thing left to mention is the battery life which is good for the first year or so before the battery loses its ability to charge. A new one of these every year is a costly running cost so it is something to factor into your buying decision.
