lasted very long at all. As a trainee teacher however I started to realise how much I would need a laptop. I was quite fortunate to get the Acer Travelmate 3043wtmi laptop secondhand for £520 not bad for a laptop that would usually cost between £800 and £600 new. I am not very technical with my language so this review will not be in technical speak and is quite simple. I do not use the laptop for amazing things. It is just a laptop for storing and transferring documents to and from home. *ACER* Acer was founded in 1976 by Stan Shih and Caroline Yeh and was known as Multitech. The name was changed to Acer in 1987. The headquarters is in Taiwan and was originally ...

...may be the word for a notebook less than 27cm wide that can do almost anything doable on a PC (in reasonable time). Liberating tool (as they say in Acer ad) it is definitely not. In less than a year since I got it as company laptop, my free time has become a serious resource bottleneck :( It has been nothing but a tool in this time, running daily, sometimes left overnight for rendering or database queries, and it proved a good and reliable one. Pentium M 1.4 GHz processor can handle both these processes simultaneously at less than double the time it takes for P4 3.8 MHz desktop I used as benchmark with same 512 MB of RAM. On WinXP it has been remarkably stable, ...

to receive free technology. This three baby was an unexpected joy about three months ago and has been put to great use. It came with three lower specced machines, also Acer and after three months of use I feel I can comment on their reliability and service. COMPARISONS Firstly, let's get rid of my only niggle. It feels slightly cheap. The keyboard feels slightly too clicky and clunky and the screen is definitely not quite up to the standard of the Toshiba I run for my own laptop. We do have one Sony in school and this Acer lags far behind that in the design stakes. That said, not only was it free to me it is also consistently cheaper than similarly specced ...
