Acer Travelmate A-550XV ... professionals who need a full-fledged workplace wherever they stay, and who also want to use it occasionally for leisure and entertainment. It is also ideal for private users who don't want space consuming PCs, but still need a transportable computer for entertainment, for access to the Internet, and for other home applications.

The TravelMate a-550 not only supports business multimedia applications, but also scores high on home entertainment. Thanks to its Video-CD and DVD capabilities, combined with a S-Video out connection, films and audio-output can be enjoyed in high quality directly on compatible TV sets. "DJ" buttons enable music playback from audio CDs, either with the lid open or closed. The 1394 FireWire port supports high-speed connection to multimedia devices like video cameras, video processors, digital audio and video recorders, mini disc players, and so on.
