... last reviewed a budget laptop at the tail end of 2000. It had cost me £1,000 and I didn t like it much. Now I m typing this review on an exponentially faster laptop with more than 40 times the hard disk space, and it was a quarter of the price. Truly, we are living in the future. Acer Extensa 5220-101G08Mi ... purchased my laptop at Christmas via the Park catalogue, it arrived in November 2008. Since then I have used this for my work, entertainment and job seeking. It s a pretty basic laptop if you ask me, well I may be a tad bit off of hand here as this is indeed my first laptop, therefore I have no other experiences on how other laptops work- but I m gunna give a review a try all the same which may be a bit tricky, so iff this isn t to your liking- I did warn you. Memory I feel that the storage is very poor, with only 80 GB which is divided into two sections, one of which is almost impossible to get to the other contains everything that keeps the laptop working. Acer Aspire Timeline 5810T-944G32MN ... acer timeline range are fantastically light and slim, and of a much better build quality than acers usual offerings. The battery life exceeds 8 hours if used in balanced or power saving mode, however, using these functions does slow it down considerably. The 15.6 inch screen and full keyboard are huge, but being less than 1in thick it is easy to transport in a backpack. The screen is bright and clear and great for watching movies on, however the sound lets the timeline down as it is very quiet, to the point of being almost inaudible with any background noise. Acer Aspire 6920G ... got this laptop about a year ago. I was drawn to it by it s wide screen and media centre. ~Good Points~ My favourite features are the wide screen and the many commands around the keyboard. On the left is the touch screen media centre, which I mainly use to stop/start/pause/skip/search/mute/adjust volume of my music. It can also be used to access photo s and dvds but I don t use this feature. On the right hand side there is four buttons: 1. Connect and disconnect the internet 2.
