I have had this product 3 years and haven't had one problem with it yet other than the charger stopping working and that was only recently.
It has webcam, wireless, new CPU and Bluetooth which i have always found really useful when sending my pictures from my phone. I prefer a net book as its nice, light, small and compact. Easy to take out with you and has a small 10 inch screen which in my opinion doesn't make much difference to any other sized screen. The memory on the computer i have never had a problem with and i have installed a few programs in the past and as for the battery life when i first purchased the item it lasted quite a while but now only lasts about an hour but as i said i have had it 3 years.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants a reliable and easy to use net book. The one and only thing it don't have is a CD ROM which has never bothered me as i have never needed one.
This is my laptop. This is the laptop I am currently using and have been using for over a year now. I absolutely love it. It is tiny, only 10'' screen, weights only 1.2 kg so you can take it anywhere, it has got a wifi so you can connect to internet anywhere too. Hard Drive is 120GB which is rather good. It also has got a webcam for those who like to use msn or skype for video calling or just chatting. The laptop is very good, it has been serving me for over a year with no problem at all. The keyboard is a bit small, but considering this is a tiny netbook, its what you should expect. I wouldnt really recommend for people who have got big hands as typing might be a bit difficult. Also if you have got bad eyes and wear glasses, you might need a bigger screen. Also this netbook isnt very good for watching films but you get used to it. Overall i love this netbook and if you want a tiny laptop that you can take anywhere, this is the one.
Great laptop but remember when buying these small netbooks that they are packed with the great functions but are limited and the consumer is paying less for less. Iv had the advent now for 2 years and it has been great, almost working like a standard size laptop. Although only an XP operating system this has proved better than my Vista system. The power of the laptop is good enough to use Microsoft office but remember that it doesn't have a CD/CDRW drive so i used an external one to load it on. The wireless networking works great and the size of the laptop is great for transporting around, especially useful for quick business trips or students going to lectures. It hasn't all been plain sailing, I accidentally compressed the hard drive and this shut the whole laptop down. I recommend you create back up of this as its incredible difficult to get hold of but overall is a useful laptop when comparing size and power.
I bought the Advent 4211C netbook nearly a year ago and also it has some bad points, I still love it and would recommend it. Rather than going into details what the netbook can do and can't do/specification/product description, I would just give you my opinion about it in general.
The best thing is the size, it has a 10" widescreen and weights 1.2kg- I carry it with me everyday on my bike in a side bag, lots of other things have to go in there so the size and weight was extremely important for me.
I was in a doubt whether I would be happy without having a dvd drive on the netbook but believe me, it is not important, most of the programs you can download from the internet, or put it on a USB key (just invest in a min 4GB one).
The built-in camera is ok quality, not the best but does the job I'm using it for (which is skype).
I store lots of pictures on the harddrive, it's still not full-so pleased with the 120gb.
What I don't like about it:
The plastic bit at the bottom which keeps the laptop even on the table fall off a month after I bought the laptop, so it's wobbly on the table - I usually keep it on my lap anyway.
Battery doesn't last long - went on a flight of an hour and 30 min and could not finish the movie I was watching, battery died after about an hour - it does not overheat though if you charge it.
Wireless network driver is not great-you need to download a different one as it keeps jumping off-very annoying when you are in the middle of publishing your review on dooyoo.
The sd card reader does not always work, I need to push the card in and out a couple of times before the computer recognizes it.
Button combinations are annoying-if you don't know what the signs mean on the F1-F12 buttons than you might get confused - and can take a while to set back the original settings- I am useless at them, it also doesn't help that on my old laptop the ctrl button was right under the shift, on this netbook it's the Fn button-a year on, I still press it and waiting for miracle (like ctrl-ins would highlight information for me, but fn-ins changes into NumLk).
Overall the netbook is a great for someone like me-using it only for writing assignments, browsing on the internet, talking on skype or watching video, it's user friendly and easy to carry around.
This is the best netbook i have owned, i have owned many netbooks in the past and decided that this was the best, its loads web pages very quickly, the netbook is so light you forget you are holding a netbook, the 10" screen is just perfect not too big and not too small, the webcam is good quality, and the hard drive is perfect for storing your media, i found many people were saying this netbook isnt built for games and pictures and music, but i found it great after putting a dvd on my usb and playing it on the 4211c it ran perfectly with no skipping and ran smoothly, I also dont see why people say you cant play music as i have 1000 tracks on media player 11 with album art and that runs fine, i also want to say that this laptop has not crashed once on me, if you are looking for a cheap netbook then i would say definatly buy this one, the only downside i have with this netbook is the battery life as it says 2hrs 30mins but that soon drops down to 1 hour.
This netbook is also very quiet and you can hardly hear the fan running, also this netbook does not get hot underneath as many laptops do.

I did a lot of research on netbooks and found that the Samsung models were the best sellers, although this advent has many identical components inside.
I wanted a netbook to replace my PC, not augment it so I needed it to be fast with a large screen and good connectivity. The advent has not disapponted.
The wifi worked right out of the box and I havent used my PC once since I got the netbook 3 months ago. It is very reliable and doesnt heat up too much - I often have it on for up to 4 or 5 hours at a time.
The 120gb disk is ample and with the ability to easily connect USB storage this isnt a problem. The netbook comes with 1 GB of ram but can be upgraded to 2GB. I only use it for web browsing and it has been fine.
Design wise, this looks great, it doesnt have a super shiny screen like some do so its easy to read, and the screen hinges directly onto the base which looks nice - I hate the ones with a big gap there.
First of all what a craskingly small piece of kit and available for such a good price if you shop around or don;t mind a reconditioned unit !
The Intel Atom processor is excellent and as this comes with XP home you don;t have to worry about windows vista eating up all your processor power. I would however advise on fitting an extra GB memory which is about £10 these days.
The addition of a webcam is excellent for the price so you can make video calls and the battery life is fantastic.
Great for on the move - pop it in your bag it really is that small but you can easily watch a video files / dvd's but I would recommend plugging in your earphones as the speakers are not the best.
There are issues with the wireless network drivers but just download the latest ones and it's as simple as that.
