Advantages: Cheap, Reliable, Affordable, Slick and Stlyish
Disadvantages: Compatability with programes, games etc
Firstly I'd like to say how good Apple's Service was. I bought my Apple Laptop from Apple's website, for £800. I looked around other companies for windows laptop's but there wasn't anything that could even come close to the Apple's power, style and affordability. The specification of my iBook is as follows;
1.33GHz PowerPC G4
512K L2 cache (at 1.33GHz)
512MB memory (DDR333 SDRAM)
12.1-inch TFT Display
1024x768 resolution
ATI Mobility Radeon 9550
32MB DDR video memory
30GB Ultra ATA hard drive

Built-in AirPort Extreme
Built-in Bluetooth 2.0

The delivery date when I purchased my iBook was 2 weeks, however it only took 8 days. When I opened the box, you realise what is good quality and what isn't, just by the way the items are boxed. I mean there must of been thousands of pounds spent designing the cardboard box the laptop comes in!
The size was something that pleasently surprised me, its so small that it will fit in my schoolbag, I can walk around school with it very discreetly, as apose to all the others who have to carry huge laptop bags aswell as their schoolbook bags!
I plugged it in and turned it on. Being was first apple it was so easy to use, the OSX interface was amazing. But the first major thing I noticed was on the reverse side of the laptop, the apple logo illuminated up brightly as it was turned on! It came with so many applications pre-installed!

The exterior of the iBook is outstanding. Beautiful looks and all thought out well. The CDrw/DVD drive is slot loading, so no worrying about snapping off the slot holders like on other laptops. There isnt a huge cluster of ports, just the neccasary ones, including surplus USB and FireWire ports. The screen release button is at the front, and next to it is a hidden LED that pulses when the laptop is on standby or when the screen is closed.
Coming from windows, Mac OSX is so much friendlier that Windows 98, 2000, ME and XP. I have also used Mac's with OS 9 installed, which itself doesn't even compare to Panther!
I was also pleased with the speed of it, it has a much less powerfull processor that the Windows laptops, but uses its power so much better, and with that comes the battery power. Most of my friends laptops won't stay on for more than an hour without needing to be charged, this little beauty will last upto 6 hours on processor saving mode!
The built in wireless has also been excelent. I have an Airport extreme, so I can wonder around my house with my laptop being able to surf the internet wirelessly. In fact, right now I'm on my sofa! I can broadcast my sound to my speakers wirelessly and also print documents from other rooms!
The bluetooth has also been quite fun, I have not used the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse on my laptop, but I always use the bluetooth for sending and recieving files between my laptop and either my or other phones.
This laptop is perfect for the person who wants to do some casual work, play a few little games, surf the internet aswell as having a full media box. The laptops sound and picture capabilities are amazing. With iTunes and iPhoto all the software is already there.
What it would not be perfect for is a hardcore gamer, or someone who need a laptop purely for work, if thats you, then I suggest staying away from apple.
