Advantages: sweet and silent

Disadvantages: movie and video or cd player, terrible!!!, some microsoft features banned

I have a 12" ibook with the 1.33GH processor. i've had it for 6 months now and the outside is still pristine white. looks-wise it is gorgeous! because i've always been a microsoft user, i had to get some getting used to with apple mac, but shifting is pretty easy and i don't regret going for apple.

i use mine for school, to store pictures, and music, for internet chatting and skyping.

i love it because it is small and portable. it's very light and sturdy. it has an antishock device so if you accidentally drop it, it protects your files. it also has a built-in mic and speaker which both work really well. it has wi-fi and bluetooth and 2 usb ports, a firewire, a lan outlet and a lock!!!

i love it coz it's silent and doesn't make a chopper or whirring sound (unless i've kept it on for 14 hours straight) in the library unlike other computers and laptops. it lasts 4 hours without the charger. i love it coz it doesn't hang unlike other laptops!

i love it coz i don't get as much viruses or popups unlike in microsoft. if some sites don't open using the safari browser, i use the mozilla firefox, so it still opens.

storing pictures is easy. plug n play, no uploading cd installer needed. it has it's own photo library which you can also organize.

and i'm already an itunes user and it works well w my nano (i like things tiny)

plus, it's available on discount for students!!! The cheapest place to get it would be in USA and if you are a student and buy online through school. You may also get a discount if you are a Student in UK. check the website for more details (apple for education)

some of the disadvantages include: it is not compatible with msn messenger, so i can't chat w msn (even w the msn for osx, it doesn't work anymore) and i cannot use my webcam for msn messenger. apple isight webcams are only for apple to apple users (ichat), but i was able to get a logitech quickcam pro 4000 which works for chatting using yahoo messenger. and you can still use skype but only voice and chat (no video).

another disadvantage is i'm still not used to the microsoft office for apple. because it does not have a delete key, i have to keep using backspace. and because i don't know how i put the insert key, ii i accidentally turn it on, i need to restart my paper everytime (copy and make new file) it happens otherwise it would overwrite characters when i make changes. there are shortcuts i'm still not familiar with.

the worst thing i guess is the movie and cd player. i never use it for that because it is TERRIBLE. that's when it makes that chopper sound. it's really not great for DVD viewing. so i don't use my laptop for that and stick to a proper player.

Summary: small, silent, sweet! great for students!
