Advantages: reliable, quick, easy to use

Disadvantages: takes a short while to get used to if you have only ever used microsoft

This was the first Apple computer that I used and instantly I could tell it was better than a windows pc. If you haven't used an Apple before, it will take a little while to get used to, because you will have become so used to the way microsoft packages work. It is well worth the effort to learn how to navigate an Apple though.

I was very impressed with the speed of this computer. Everything works extremely quickly.

Also the applications are excellent. I did have to download a word-style package which wasn't included in order to write essays but even this piece of software was easier to use than the microsoft ones. I think probably because there is enough functionality without having too much that you don't understand and can confuse and slow down a document.

There is a dashboard feature which is a bit like a windows desktop but much better because you can have clocks and online features called widgets. I leave my husband to sort all that but I frequently use it to check the latest news of have a game of sudoko (shhh... don't tell him!).

The best feature is that is never crashes. We've had it over three years and I've never known it crash once, or get a virus (touch wood!)

These are really cheap to pick up now and still have plenty of memory, hard drive and processor speed to warrant an investment.

One downside is that our battery is starting to go but it has been used so much it's not surprising. It still lasts an hour on the battery but we're getting a new one which will be about £40.

Best laptop I've ever tried.

Summary: Superb laptop. I'll now only ever buy an Apple
