Apple iBook M9018B/ASo Apple made the iBook's sleek case out of impact-resistant polycarbonate plastic. That would ordinarily be sufficient to survive the rigorous of everyday use and abuse, but Apple didn't stop there. Inside, a sturdy magnesium frame provides superior strength, while reducing the iBook's weight to well below that of other full-featured PC notebooks. Apple even rubber-mounted the hard disk drive for added bump tolerance, so you can store all of your digital goodies on your iBook and still enjoy peace of mind. Additionally, the iBook has no I/O doors, protruding latches or levers to break or snap off when tucking it into a backpack or briefcase. More Apple laptops

Rating:
I chose an iBook because I found the quality of the PC laptops equivalents somewhat lacking. I didn t want to spend several hundred pounds on something that was just going to break in a couple of years. This is my first Mac and my first laptop but it took nothing to become used to, just a few minutes - I was expecting difficulties given my past 5 years of using the (godawful) Windows operating system (OS). Mac OS X isn t flawless but it s certainly a lot better than Windows. Despite the low power (1ghz) and stingy memory (256mb) it doesn t often struggle, I guess it s because it isn t as loaded with crap as Windows often is. For £799 the power is mediocre considering you ...

capable of and secondly, because you can pick these up for brgain prices nowadays. So, I picked this up for my 9 year old son. I really wanted an Apple for him, as that is what I have experience with and I knew he would get on well with it. It only needed to handle some educational stuff and internet, so nothing flash or too expensive. I paid £123.00 for this 12-inch version on ebay and I could not believe my luck. I got it packed in a refurb box (plain brown), but with all the manuals, cables and disks. The laptop itself looked brand new, now a mark on it, and all the stickers in the right places and cover on the keyboard. I suspect it was a refurbished Apple Store ...
