Advantages: Small, light & stylish

Disadvantages: Can take a while to adjust if coming from Windows

I have owned my MacBook for the past two years, apart from the occasional application crash (about once a month), I have had no problems.

My battery life has shortened a little, but that is to be expected after 2 years, it still holds around an hour of juice from a full charge.

I use a pc laptop for work but find that when I get home the Mac suits my needs perfectly, everything is clear and easy to use, and it is pretty difficult to actually break anything which means it is good for people with little experience with computers.

I have only added a few extra applications to the bundled software so that I can open certain files and edit word documents with Microsoft Word. Every application installs extremely quickly and fuss free, a welcome feature after installing programs on a pc.

Once you figure out the trackpad with it's gestures you'll find it hard to go back to standard trackpad, it feels natural and smooth. You can even set it up to right click when tapped with two fingers.

The size of the MacBook means that it is light and easy to carry around with you, this also means that the screen is a little small for my taste, a small price to pay. The screen is clear and bright and easy on your eyes even after a few hours thanks to the easy brightness adjustment buttons.

In summary I highly recommend this laptop, a newer version is available now, however if you need it for web browsing, document editing etc this is definitely up for the job!

Summary: Excellent for the every day user

Hi! Sorry I wasn't really too clear, when I said crash I didn't mean the whole system crashing, just that I sometimes have a lot of applications open which can lead to one of them freezing up, nothing a quick force quit can't sort out. If I learnt to quit my apps when I'm finished I'm sure this would never happen!

If you're on a budget, go for an older model, if not the new macbooks look very nice. As for the mac mini, I guess it depends whether you plan on taking you computer out and about with you, I personally love having a laptop as it means I can take it anywhere.

I quite fancy something like this as I love the Mac... so much better than windoze! Have to say though, I don't consider it crashing once a month to be 'occasional' - to me that would be 'all the time' and I'd be tearing my hair out! Maybe I should stick with the mac mini? Or maybe the newer models are ok?
