Slick and stylish in brilliant black this Macbook is a dream when it comes to handling heavy duty programs such as Photoshop or Dreamweaver. Perfect for graphics, photography, film and web related activities and due to the 'like a brick' nature of the mac's they are near impeneterable when it comes to virus attacks.

If you're coming from Windows then it may take some adjusting and don't expect all software to have a Mac version, but most does or there are usually alternatives.

Personally i'm a photographer and Web Designer and so really got it for the known reliability for this sort of profession. Running the latest 'Leopard' operating system the 'Time Machine' backup software is a must have when it comes to important data. Keeping everything backed up nice and neatly without taking up loads of space with duplicate files etc.

The only problems i have encountered with the Mac's (and indeed my girlfriends iPod) are when it comes to the chargers which have a slim magnetic connection into the macbook. The slim part of the cable seems to get warm quite easily and i have had to replace it once (at £60 each time). Additionally the 'Superdrive' (CD/DVD drive) broke and had to go into the Apple shop to be fixed (£200 later...), it has since broken again but is under warranty so just be a bit careful, Apple Care may seem expensive at the time but it may just be worth it in the long run for piece of mind.

In summary this is a class piece of hardware with just a few bugs here and there that need sorting, but as an overall laptop in terms of ease-of-use and reliability i would never go back to Windows now i've gone Mac
