A few years ago I needed to buy a laptop and was torn between a Vaio and a Macbook. The £200 difference swayed me and I went with the Vaio - a decision I have come to regret, because 2 1/2 years later I ended up buying this beautiful Macbook. Had I gone with a Mac in the first place I am sure I wouldn't have needed a replacement in such a short space of time as they are well made and less likely to break.

This has to be one of the best purchases I have ever made. I am no techi - if i'm honest I am a bit of a technophobe, but this laptop seems to understand my fear and holds my hand as I use it. It's beautifully designed, feels very solid and expensive, it makes a beautiful sound when you close it. It's wonderfully fast and has never crashed during the 5 months we've been together. The way you navigate through the different programs feels very intuitive and therefore moving from a pc was no great drama. I went for the 250GB HD because the man from apple said i would need it in a few years time - I don't know if I really will, so if you are a student and part time photography fiddler it may not be necessary.

Also, don't forget, if you are a student you get a helpful discount on Hardware and a massive discount on software.
