right i have had this macbook since december 09' and would like to share my thoughts on it. Firstly, when opened up for the first time you sense the pristine white and looks like a very clean computer. When turned on, the 8th wonder of the world has been created. Never had i had a computer which loads so fast and quickly and can be on the web within 20 seconds of pressing the power button.

As a previous windows user i was sure they were the only computers worth buying and could not risk £800 on a new computer that might not even been that good. So this part is for the windows users- the macintosh software has grown substantially since it first came about. There used to be problems with compatibility between macs and pcs but that has completely gone since macs are now inline with there rivals. Windows are still great computers and no doubt are much better for gaming but i believe everyday users will benefit from the very user friendly interface of the mac. It comes with many free programs including garageband- a music composing software and photo booth-a webcam program which works in conjunction with the good quality webcam. The keyboard is very flat and allows users a very comfortable experience even for long documents. The battery life is meant to be around 10 hours but i can get around 7-8 hours doing light web browsing and documents. Heavy browsing like youtube will cut it down to about 3-4 hours.

This is for the mac owners with older macs- the new macs are fairly similar to what was created from 10.4-tiger and i would say they are very much the same in speed. I would only recommend buying one if your old one broke down or your felt the need for time machine- a new back-up software program which is useful if you have valuable documents but this was added in the previous version-10.5 leopard. I don't see the extra features of the macbook pro being worth it like a back lit keyboard or memory card slots

The only problems i have had with the computer is that the back overheats slightly when the charger is in. I have had no software problems and don't know many others who haven't. I believe this is the time to switch if you have and as i was a devout windows user!
