Advantages: Fantastic screen for working on images . Love the aluminum case .

Disadvantages: Gets hot . Lacks a slot for memory cards .

This laptop revolutionized the way I run my photography business.
Before I worked on a desktop PC which was quick and efficient, but I always thought I could work faster. I tried out a friends MacBook and was stunned. I found everything far more intuitive and this made tasks much quicker to complete. But enough about something so subjective.

The matte screen is beautiful to view photographs on and retains it's calibration well. They keyboard is a delight to work at and the touchpad is sensitive enough to even do basic photo retouching.
As other reviewers have noted, the casing does get very hot. There is a very good reason for this though, the aluminum case is used to cool the laptop rather than having an internal fan, as a result the laptop is very quiet to run. The other advantage of having the aluminum case rather than plastic, is that I have dropped mine several times resulting only in dents. Had this laptop been plastic, I would have had to throw it away by now.

I have 2GB ram in mine, and it very confidently runs as many apps as I wish to have open at one time, including Photoshop CS2, with absolutely no problems.
Another quick thing to mention, is that my PC used to crash several times a day. My MacBook Pro has only crashed a few times in it's entire two year lifetime.

I'm so happy with my first apple computer product that it has persuaded me to drop several thousand pounds on a desktop machine - they must be getting something right!
The only thing it is really missing, is a built in slot for memory cards into the case, or even space to insert a card to allow this functionality. If it had this, it would be an absolutely perfect machine.

Summary: Good laptop at a good price.
