Advantages: Design, power, reliability and OS X
Disadvantages: sharp body, keys and switching from PC MS office is a pain
Well I'm a recently converted Mac user, I have not become a PC hater since but I can certainly notice the differences since making the switch.
If you go down the Macbook pro route, I think you'll be pleased with the outcome. As even most PC users will testify, Macs just work, in my experience I have also had PCs that have worked fine but they are certainly not as foolproof as what the boys from Apple put into a box.
As many reviewers have already mentioned, the computer is solid and stylish but much of the fun you'll be having will centre around the excellent OS X, which PC converts will have to spend a week or two getting used to and also the trackpad...
Two fingers to scroll, three to navigate and four to move all of your windows to where you can see them and hide them - this is something which may sound like a gimmick but it honestly is not and it will change the way you use a laptop/notebook. The urge to plug a mouse in is gone.
Applications run smoothly, I like many others upgraded the RAM to 4GB from 2 though that may just be me being greedy. I have an Imac with 2GB and it runs fine
If there were a couple of irks to mention, one would be the typing ) now it may just be me but I find myself constantly misspelling, hitting the wrong keys
I also find the aluminium body is pretty sharp and can hurt the wrists when you type.
But I reccommend this for its excellent operating system and its fantastic, non-gimmicky features
Summary: There's a reason why Mac owners are so smug...

- 22/05/09 yeah there are a few too many fanboys but there are also people out there who liked PCs and now like Macs. As for the right click, it does exist in MacLand just not on the stock mouse |

- 22/05/09 Hmmm, I am a Mac Convert who sadly regrets his old PC life. Yeah they look great and you never get a virus etc but people go on about them too much and where is the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON????
Goo d review though... |
