Advantages: User-friendly, full of great little programmes, aesthetically pleasing
Disadvantages: Needs MacOffice to complement it
Let me start off by saying that I adore my Macbook Pro. I am absolutely sincere in saying that, unlike any PC I have previously used, I have never been annoyed or angry at my Macbook Pro. I have never, ever wanted to hurt it, or throw it out the window. Why? Because it never, ever crashes.
Everything about Macs is totally user-friendly. If you need to do anything, the easiest way to do it will usually be the most obvious way. Dragging things into different folders, onto the desktop, or wherever you want them to go is as easy as pie. ITunes, iPhoto, Preview, iCal, etc are all very useful little programmes and do everything you could possibly want. Stickies is another great programme - it gives you little yellow stickies on your computer screen on which you can type. Great for keeping organised, and fantastic if, like me, you adore making lists.
The one thing lacking as far as software goes is a good equivalent for Microsoft Office - this is easily solved by buying Office for Mac, an investment well worth it.
Front Row is also amazing - basically your own private cinema, where you can view movies and tv shows you have uploaded onto your mac.
All in all, what I love about my lovely Macbook Pro is how amazingly user friendly it is, and how it does EVERYTHING I want it to do. And how it makes me smile by never crashing, and also how pretty and shiny it is. Superficial as it may sound, the backlit keyboard makes me happy, as does the neatness of the disk drive - you don't need to open anything, you simply slide the CD in. And what do you do when you want to remove the CD? You drag it to the recycle bin icon. It's that easy.
The battery life is up to ten hours if you're not doing much and if you have the light turned down reasonably low. (Bear in mind that my Macbook is actually close to a year old, the newer ones have even longer battery life.)
So if you want to be happy every time you turn on your computer, get a Macbook Pro. I don't know anyone who has one and doesn't adore and revere it. And no, I promise I don't work for them!
Summary: I would fully recommend getting a MacBook Pro!
