Having lusted after a mac for years (and saving endlessly) I bought an Aluminium MacBook when they first came out. I wasn't disappointed but after a mishap with a glass of water it was replaced by this MacBook Pro.

The new Pro was even better than my first mac. The LED screen is even brighter, with better contrast and colours. The increased RAM makes it run silky smooth, the 2.4ghz dual core processor is super quick and graphics are like a dream.

I do a lot of photo editing so having a decent screen is key. I can honestly say that I would never want to use anything but a mac for creative work ever again. The new LED screens are unmatched on any PC laptop I have seen. The mac OS is not only easier and simpler to use re:interface, but it makes using a computer much more simple generally. I can print to PDF in every program without needing 3rd party software, I don't need to install endless drivers and software just to use a peripheral that I've plugged in. Exposé and spaces are excellent tools that I now take for granted, along with many many more. The list of things I would miss if I were to lose my MacBook Pro is too long for here. It works like a computer should.

I spent years training as an IT technician and I don't miss a single thing about using a PC for my personal computer.

My hard drive is now very full with images, music and video, but for most 250gb is more than adequate. The mac has slowed somewhat due to being so full, but that is true of any computer.

The build quality is as high as it comes. The metal construction feels solid, while not overly heavy. The 13.3" screen size is ideal. It is perfectly large for most tasks, but is incredibly portable.

If you're hesitating over whether to buy your first Apple computer, don't. You will not look back.
