Great laptop if you have the money to spend. Nothing else comes even close.

Now, please do not take me as an Apple fanboy just hyping up Apple products. I will admit that I do own a few of their devices but I do try to be fair when giving a review.

I bought my Macbook Pro 15 (2011 Model) earlier this year around June and have now owned it for roughly 5 months. After extensive daily use, I have come to find that it is the best laptop I have ever owned. My previous laptops were Windows laptops from Dell and Acer.

The first thing to note about the Macbook Pro is the design, It looks like all the previous models but it is very well made and looks great. After 5 months of use, the keyboard is working perfectly, the aluminium finish has not discoloured and it is easily scratched (I say not easily scratched because my metal watch keeps rubbing over it and nothing has happened so far).

The next thing it the operating system and the hard ware. OSX is a breeze to use even though I have been using Windows for most of my life. Transferring files over is not as difficult as it may seem because OSX can read Windows formatted hard drives. The multitouch gestures on the mouse pad it truly amazing and nothing I have ever used even comes remotely close to it. The speed of the machine is very very good. I've had a large number of applications running and the Macbook Pro handles it perfectly fine. Also notable is the battery life of the laptop, I have managed 4 hours of actual use (This includes internet surfing with the music playing in the background at half volume and about half brightness and the backlit keyboard turned off.)

The only downside that I have found is the heat. The fan comes on quite frequently and the Macbook does get quite hot. Prolonged use on your lap may start to get uncomfortable. The Macbook Pro is also very expensive so it will be out of reach for most consumers. But if you can afford it, there is truly no other laptop that can beat it at that price.
