Advantages: Can easily run Windows XP or Mac OS-X - and does both with grace, speed and style.

Disadvantages: Can get a little warm when charging the batteries due to lack of fan, but does run silent

For anyone considering purchasing a laptop, the Apple MacBook Pro has to be considered.

It can quite happily boot to Windows XP or Mac OS-X, doing both with grace, speed and style. Sure Windows still hangs now and then like on any laptop, but it is definately more reliable than my desktop running the Windows.

The inbuilt graphics are impressive, with a young friend of the family claiming that it delivered the best performance of any laptop he had used when playing FPS games online. He initially refused to believe the stated specifications for the Apple as he had apparently used better "speced" laptops that were significantly slower.

I have found it to be an absolute joy for both work and pleasure myself.

Having to use Windows predominately for buisiness, I am now able to boot to the Mac OS for my personal use. Having not used an Apple for almost 8 years, I found it a cinch to re-learn and am constantly being delighted with the new improvements + how much faster and better the Mac OS is compared to Windows.

There are a couple of bugs when using Windows that you should know about such as the headphones not cutting the sound to the speakes which makes using Skype difficult in public (unless you have a bluetooth headset and bypass the soundcard) and the keyboard not lighting up.

Other than that, it is definately the best laptop I have owned to date.
