Advantages: Good processing speed, screen size, design and build. Mega screen

Disadvantages: It weighs quite a bit

The G3 PowerBook is a great laptop machine. It's a little bit weighty, but I think the hassle of lugging it around is far outweighed by the joy of using it.

As a Macophile I can never sing the praises of Mac OS enough, I find it so much more intuitive than Windows as an operating system, and as a consequence the powerbook is very easy to operate.

It's got bags of RAM, decent clock speed - especially if you go after the 400 version - and is easily maintained and upgradeable. The pop out compartments for battery, CD drive, DVD etc, make specing the machine to ones personal taste a doddle.

The battery has loads of hours in it, particularly with the economy settings maximised.

Firewire and USB bring meriad network and bolt on options, and the whole platform seems enourmously robust.

One enormous benefit of the PowerBook is the positively gigantic colour screen which surely must be one of the largest on any portable machine. You could pretty much project a movie onto it!

Design wise it's as pretty as all the latest generation of Macs, and the build quality is extremely good.

All in all a great machine, particularly good for people who need a mobile platform for multi-media presentations.
