Apple PowerBook G4 M8591B/A ... search for the world's best high-performance thin and light notebook computer is over. The PowerBook G4 easily runs everything from Microsoft Office to Final Cut Pro to Adobe Photoshop. It also connects to just about anything, from wireless networks to digital cameras to the stunning Apple Cinema Display. Such incredible power deserves equally impressive display capabilities. The PowerBook G4 features a 15.2-inch mega-wide screen with 1280-by-854-pixel resolution, which gives you the largest workspace, best color saturation, and widest viewing angle ever in a PowerBook. Compared with 15-inch XGA screens, you get 39 percent more workspace.
If you need to increase your workspace even more or deliver a presentation, the PowerBook G4 features DVI, VGA, S-video, and composite output options for connectivity to flat-panel displays, CRTs, TVs, and projectors. And for the first time ever, you can have the ultimate pure digital experience and even more workspace by connecting your PowerBook to an Apple flat-panel display. When it comes to networking, the PowerBook G4 has you covered. With an AirPort Card, you're ready to connect to a wireless network at work, at home, or in a café. If you're looking for a high-speed connection via Ethernet, DSL, or cable modem, just plug into the Gigabit Ethernet port. Of course, there's a built-in 56K modem as well. The PowerBook G4: accomplish more, carry less.

Apple PowerBook G3Not just for Apple freaks; Linux too! (257 words)

I've owned a PowerBook G3 since it came out; I've got the old fat one. I use a wide variety of computers; PCs, Macs, Desktops, Laptops and this is the best machine I've ever used (although it's a bit slow compared to the new ones). I run Linux on mine, so don't think I'm just a Mac evangelist, and it performs beautifully. The screen is still the best I've seen on a laptop - it's twice as bright as my (much newer) IBM ThinkPad. (so why did I buy the ThinkPad? I wanted a *tiny* laptop for travel) All the hardware is supported fine under Linux, from the PCMCIA slots to the built in modem to the SCSI port (NB you don't get SCSI on the new ...

I have owned a G3 PowerBook for about a year and a half and can find little to fault on this machine. It packs a lot of power into a slim design much better than the Windows stuff that I see other commuters on my train using. The design is also miles ahead of the competition. It has a sexy waist that you grip it by and that glowing apple, that is just such a brilliant feature. This is both a workhorse and an attention grabber. DVD watching while commuting never fails to impress the other passengers who sit back in awe as you watch Fight Club for the 33rd time on the 07.32 to Liverpool Street. It is a fast machine. My 400 MHz laptop performs certain processor ...
