To my mind this was a great laptop for university when i was doing my Design course, portable for lectures and had enough power to do all the demanding things with design software. The entire time i have had it, it has never crashed or went wrong and just keeps on ticking went you want it. Simple interface makes this a joy to use and so is ideal for people who dont know how to use a Computer as there is no fear of anything going wrong. Heat is an issue as the mac tends to cook your legs if you rest it for too long, still i never found this a problem during cold winters! Solidly built and is simply beutiful to look at and i can tell you i got a few jealous looks. The only issue with Macs is their lack of good games as this is clearly meant for work and not fun but these have been fixed with the newer macs thanks to the swich over to the intel chip but other than that this is a solid Mac for the student. Battery life is typical of laptops 3 hours tops as long as you dont play around too much

Summary: Great all rounder for the student who wants to knuckle down rather than play
