I bought mine from GHI @ £365.00 about a year ago great laptop looks good works well, only down fall I had was the power adaptor melted and the dc socket came loose, however it came with a 2 year warrenty so you would think that im ok, WRONG maxdata who too over from Belina have gone bust so the warrenty has gone down the pan. so if you buy one good luck
If you want a technical review, look away now. This is strictly for girls:
I've owned this laptop a year now, and I must say I cannot fault it. To me, it's a real girly laptop (which is good, as I'm a girl), because of the unusual colour and light weight design. I am often complimented on my "cool looking" laptop.
I bought it from Asda Electricals online, for £385, which I thought was quite reasonable.
Windows Vista is stunning on this laptop, the screen is lovely, very shiny and has a beautiful picture. The web cam is brilliant, and gives a very clear image. The case that the laptop comes with, is nice in that it isn't black or grey (it's a very bright orange!), however it could do with a shoulder strap or similar, to aid carrying the thing around! (it's more of a sleeve than a case).
As laptops go, the sound isn't bad. The sound quality is never going to be great, but it's pretty good here, if a little quiet (struggle to watch TV/films on it if there's a lot going on without headphones in).
It has a built in wireless adaptor, so no need for a bulky card poking out the side, which makes it very useful for being connected anywhere, any place wirelessly. It runs most games well, though I often have to turn the graphics quality onto low or medium, else it tends to be a bit slow. The battery lasts for about an hour and a half from fully charged, on the highest power settings - far longer if you switch the brightness and other settings down. I did have a problem with my power adaptor, in that the cable melted after a few weeks, but it was replaced without fuss by calling the number on the Maxdata website.
So, would definitely recommend, unless you're into high spec gaming - it's more perfect for online shoe shopping :)
I wouldn't be without mine.
1GB Memory is a single stick, which makes upgrade easy as there is a second slot.
Integrated webcam is nice, but there is no integrated microphone, which seems a bit silly.
Good looking laptop comes complete with an orange thick padded nylon protective sleeve. Everything seems to work ok and is well put together. Maybe a little overpriced compared with alternatives, as this only has Vista Home Basic.
Maxdata/Belinea site offers driver support for XP and Vista.
2 year warranty with none-premium rate phone number.
PCMCIA express slot only
Unusual design and top performance: the new Belinea o.book 1 is a notebook that is sure to catch the eye. It features a webcam, 15.4-inch WXGA anti-glare display and VIA graphics, and is therefore just the ticket for anyone seeking to master the multimedia world and and those who place great emphasis on an attractive price.
