I bought the Belinea o.book 3 as a cheap substitute to a better known brand laptop with similar features. At the time, this laptop was the only affordable laptop i could find that had all the features that i wanted.
My favorite features are the built in webcam, bluetooth and Wifi. These features make using the laptop really convenient as you don't have to buy extras in order to make them work they're just there built in all the time ready to work unlike a lot of other laptops that don't have these features built in.
Three USB ports - Convenient for if you want to plug lots of USB devices in at once.
Expresscard slot - A slot that enables you to expand/add on extra hardware such as Firewire ports.
Battery life - I have found the battery life to be quite good and more efficient than other similar laptops i considered buying. As the battery gets older it begins to become less efficient.
Lots of storage space - With a 160GB hard drive there is lots of space to fill with pictures, documents and software. I have had this laptop a few years now and the hard drive is still nowhere near full.
Nice sized screen - The screen is 15.4" Widescreen TFT which is great for watching movies on.
Most of the software that came with this laptop were just trials, although this may change depending where you buy it from, if you happen to buy one that includes just trials and want the full version of the softwares you have to pay out extra to get these. Microsoft Office is one of the pieces of software that was a trial version, if you can't afford to buy this after the trial has run out try a free alternative such as Open Office.
No Firewire port - Like most Windows based computers, the laptop does not have a Firewire port, these are usually used for transferring data such as video footage from Mini DV camcorders. You can however add Firewire ports using the Expresscard slot.
Windows Vista slows the laptop down - 1gb of Ram is only just enough to run Windows Vista on which makes the computer quite slow at times when there is multiple programmes open. To get around this you could either buy more Ram or downgrade to Windows XP which runs a lot quicker on 1gb of Ram.
As Belinea isn't manufactured in the UK i found it quite hard to find replacement parts such as battery chargers or batteries.
Sound - The speakers aren't quite as loud as i would have hoped, this can be solved by buying external speakers to plug into the headphone slot.
Weight - The laptop is quite heavy to carry around which is not ideal if you want to take it to work or university with you.
Belinea o.book 3 is a cost effective alternative to laptops of better known brands with similar features. Although there isn't that many disadvantages of using this laptop i think that in future i will look for laptops that are manufactured in the UK as it is easier to buy replacement parts if need be.
