The heart of this notebook is Intel's Pentium II processor. This CPU will make your business and multimedia applications absolutely fly. The processor has hardcoded MMX instructions for multimedia acceleration, and L2 cache memory which further enhances its performance. For the most memory-intensive uses, the notebook offers plenty of upgradable RAM. Additional software includes Compaq Intelligent Manageability, Security, Compaq Diagnostics, Compaq Power Management, Online Safety and Comfort Guide, Online Reference Guide, and Carbon Copy. To maximize the portability of this notebook, the multimedia drive has been left out of its base design. The Armada 3500 Mobile Expansion Unit (purchased separately) provides added flexibility, with an integrated CD-ROM drive or DVD drive, and a MultiBay that supports the floppy drive or an optional second hard drive, LS-120 drive, or Zip drive.
