they sent me the Rescue CDs in English. I paid about 1000 euros (which was about £700 at the time) for it 3 years ago. The speed of the Compaq Presario 724EA is 1.2 GHz and it s AMD Duron, which made it unbelievable fast 3 years ago and still is about the same as the PC I use now. The notebook is 31.5 cm x 26.9 cm x 4.2 cm in dimension and weighs about 3 kilograms. It s black with a silver edging and it has the emblem COMPAQ in the middle of the laptop case. It came with MS Windows XP Home edition (French and English) and Norton Anti Virus 2001 (French and English), which isn t really a big assortment but I didn t mind as I still had a lot of software from my dad s ...

laptops storage. It only has an 80GB hard drive, which is basically the bare minimum these days. However because this laptop has such great media features you would think that Compaq would have given it at least a little more hard drive capacity. So this is quite a bit of a let down. The screen size of this laptop is 15.4 inch, this makes it a bit more portable, however it would have been nice to see this laptop with a 17 inch screen, scene as its meant to be for watching videos on and with only a 15.4 inch screen this isn t very good for it. Update: Have got Compaq involved and apparently this is a major design flaw as the bottom and top of the case are prone to breaking. Apparently the early models had this flaw and this has now been fixed. However I havent got one of the new ones yet and I'll pass judgement when I've seen it and used it for a while. Update 2: The unit was returned to me on the 7th Feb, it is now 26th March and there are already cracks appearing in the same place as before and as this has been replaced before we have been taking it easy with the machine. I have had to phone Compaq again and they have told me to send it back for a replacement case again. Truly pathetic. This is ...
