they sent me the Rescue CDs in English. I paid about 1000 euros (which was about £700 at the time) for it 3 years ago. The speed of the Compaq Presario 724EA is 1.2 GHz and it s AMD Duron, which made it unbelievable fast 3 years ago and still is about the same as the PC I use now. The notebook is 31.5 cm x 26.9 cm x 4.2 cm in dimension and weighs about 3 kilograms. It s black with a silver edging and it has the emblem COMPAQ in the middle of the laptop case. Update: Have got Compaq involved and apparently this is a major design flaw as the bottom and top of the case are prone to breaking. Apparently the early models had this flaw and this has now been fixed. However I havent got one of the new ones yet and I'll pass judgement when I've seen it and used it for a while. Update 2: The unit was returned to me on the 7th Feb, it is now 26th March and there are already cracks appearing in the same place as before and as this has been replaced before we have been taking it easy with the machine. Compaq Presario 900US

I purchased my Compaq notebook 906us a week ago and have pujt it through it paces. I have had several laptop computer but this one I found outstanding. The screen is excllent and when I viewed a DVD movie the colors were vibrant. It has a multi task CD Rom, with R/W and CD plus the DVD. I like the windowsxp home operating system. The toucpad is quick and the keyboard has a good feel to it. I have ordered an external usb floppy for further easy access. The price was also a factor. The unit lists for $1,149.00 but my retailer gave me a $100.00 off at the register and two coupons, one for $200.00 and another rebate coupon for $100.00. This made the total price $749.00. I ...
