this is a very good laptop its really fast as long as you dont put lots of junk on it which you dont really need its simple to use. the laptop its self is really light so is easy to carry about if you take it outside of your home.
battery life on this laptop i was really surprised at i was multi tasking while playing music and full vol and it was lasting a good 4 hours before i needed to put it back on charge. the down side is that after a while the battery in mine needed replace which i still havnt done so if its not pluged in its only last about 5 mins now,
what u get for the price you cant grumble at it, it dose what you want it to do, you can play most games on it if your a gamer some wont run on it because it dosent have a good enough graffix's card or somthing but at least 50% of games will play on this,
memory on this is pretty big and i was surprised how much music and films i could fit on to it. but it fills up faster than you think and you find yourself having to delet alot of stuff sooner or later but theres always the option of buying an external harddrive
I've had this laptop for quite a while now (since January 2008 I think), and the fact I'm still using it regularly definitely says something in itself. I've used this laptop almost every day since I bought it, and in a house with a young child and a dog, it hasn't always been taken care of particularly well...however, it works just about as well as it did when I bought it.
I'm not very technically minded, so when it came to buying this I went with the one my dad recommended, mainly due to the low price and the fact that it has all the memory and capabilities I would ever need...as I don't use it for media and I'm not a 'gamer.'
I say it works almost as well as it did, as it does run alot slower than it used to, and although I don't store much data this might be down to the increased number of programs I now have installed on it. With this in mind, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that wants to install a lot of programs, or for those who rely on an exceptionally quick computer.
The other problem I'm now having is that the battery no longer works and I need to be connected to the mains...not a huge problem as I don't travel with it but reduces the attractiveness of having a laptop as opposed to a desktop. However, I am well aware that this may be my own fault, and that replacing the battery will sort this...all in all...not bad to say I've had it for as long as I have!
In conclusion...I wouldn't recommend to people who are looking for a high spec or an exceptionally good performance, but to those on a budget, students, or for people who only use the basic office programs and surf the web...it's a good buy!!
I use this laptop just for Home Computing (Internet Browsing, Word Processing, etc) and it is a good quality laptop that I'm glad to have brought after I spent ages deciding the best one to buy.I use it all the time and it's yet to let me down!
I can be using several programs at the same time and it still works to more or less the same speed and efficiency as if i was just using one. Its completely easy to use, even my dad (who knows as much about technology as a teaspoon!) can use the laptop easily even if it is just basic functions. The laptop have never let me down once and I've had it for over a year no without one single technical problem or glitch. So it's reliable, easy to use and has got fast processing speed. Nearly everything you want from a Home Computer.
The only problems I have had with it are that it can only support lower graphic games and as an avid game user this is a problem as it can't use this laptop for both home computing and gaming which is quite annoying. However if you just want it for \home Computing or simple games or multimedia product this won't effect you. The main problem though is the battery life which is quite short and in the end i have resorted to just keeping it on charge always which does effect the portability of the laptop. This is the main flaw for this product.
Overall a very good quality Home Computer with just a major flaw of an unpredictable, short battery life.
This was my first ever laptop and was bought nearly a year and a half ago (in January of 2009). Considering I have had my laptop this long, it has lasted remarkably well. I am a student and would fully recommend it to other similar people as it was great for surfing the net at the same time as being on MSN and word etc. However, over this period of time, I have come across many problems with it, disappointingly. One major problem is how quickly the memory and RAM seems to fill up, therefore the computer tends to go slowly, especially on start-up when it can take minutes longer than my friends ones of other models. In addition, I don't believe that the trial version of microsoft office 2007 is long enough, and appealing enough for students to buy: most will need this permanently on here (as well, of course, to other people)!! Another problem could be that the fan is on the bottom of the device, so it seems to get boiling hot reasonably quickly which is not useful and wears the fan out considerably!
I've had this laptop for a couple of months now and I have to say that I am very impressed with it's durability, and ease of use. The initial installation, however lengthy was very simple, clear and precise - and even those new to computing will have no problem at all setting it up to their own requirements.
The Webcam is great, even though it isn't the best quality and isn't very good in the dark, it preinstalled itself and was instantly recognised on MSN without me having to do anything.
The wireless connection is also very simple, and after following the most basic of steps, I was connected to my home network and have had no issues whatseoever with connectivity, or the software playing up.
The battery life is ok, when new it lasted a good 5-6 hours of continuous use before I needed to charge it, and when it was unplugged I noticed no differences in performance apart from a slightly dimmer display(Which can easily be fixed in the screen settings!).
All in all, if you want a laptop that is great for general home and office use, I would highly recommend this - Although if you are looking for something to play games on I would suggest looking elsewhere. A good all round laptop that I will be using for the considerable future!
The specs shown for the laptop are not the same as mine even though I have the same laptop. Rather than having a 120GB hard drive and 1GB of RAM mine has 4GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive. This is a very good laptop especially if you need one for college work which is my main use for it. The built in webcam is quite good although not really brilliant, there is a small light next to it which you would presume gives some light when using the web cam when it is dark, but its really no use what so ever meaning you need a light on which sometimes can be annoying especially as this light it supposed to work. I have also had some problems with the battery where it wont charge, sometimes you need to run it purely from the mains, and the battery life isnt great either, although if your only using it at home its still quite good as you have access to mains but if you wanted this laptop to take to work, college etc. I wouldnt recommend it.
Although it has these problems it runs programs well and is capable of running all the latest programs, games etc. It comes with either Vista or Windows 7 depending when and where you buy it.
