The Presario CQ61 is a brilliant laptop firstly. The screen is a very good size, perfect for gaming or watching TV shows on. The screen size also means it has room for a large keyboard which includes a number pad and every other key you would expect on an ordinary keyboard. The track pad is a good size and isn't too sensitive so a slip of a finger won't make a drastic difference if any at all. Unlike most laptops if you have number lock or caps lock on it indicates it with a small yet bright light next to the desired button.
The battery life depends mainly with what you are using it for, for example if you are playing a game or watching a film/TV programme it will reduce quicker then if you were browsing the web. Also, the fan at the side of the laptop can blow out really hot sometimes but it won't affect if you are right-handed, but if you are left-handed just move the laptop or cover your arm with a long sleeved t-shirt or something similar.
It has 2 USB ports, CD tray, a 5 in 1 card reader, a build in web-cam and microphone,
But these problems are superficial as this laptop is extremely good value for money and has a lot of upsides to.
This laptop is brilliant, I needed a good laptop for university and I found the Compaq. It does have issues, albeit minor issues. The annoyingly smooth trackpad, the sometimes aggravating processor and the sheer weight of the thing. It's heavy!! (And also very rugged, it's survived after many falls) Despite them few faults I really like this laptop. It runs fantastically for all the tasks that I need it for; Skype, Word Processing, Spreadsheet Packages... Those of you needing a gaming laptop, look elsewhere the unbuilt graphics aren't the best around but as a laptop for non-gaming uses it excels. The most impressive thing was the price!! Apart from the common features the Compaq has a 5-in-1 Card Reader and an HDMI out slot. Very useful when projecting the screen onto a larger TV. I highly recommend this laptop for you students! Now only if in the future re-iterations of the laptop they could bump up the speed a little bit and sort out the quite short battery life.
