Advantages: good laptop
Disadvantages: price
Dell is one of the greatest companies when it comes to pc and laptops, and in my opinion they are the best company of all.
With dell you know your getting great customer support if any thing should go wrong with your laptop, they help you set it up if you need to and there even on call to come out to your house if you do have further problems.
However you can only buy dell laptops online, this means you have to wait a week before you get the laptop, which might not seem like a long time, but when you really want something, you just want it there right now.
This dell 1501, is an inspiron.
Inspirons are of a really good design and made to a great standard, there has now been so much different models of inspiron made, so it must be a good laptop.
This particular inspiron is great for anyone who needs an good running laptop, with lots of memory and just something to last them through college, university or just someone who wants a good laptop.
It features AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology TK-53 / 1.7 Ghz processor, and has a 1 gb of ram installed. However like with a lot of dells this can be upgraded to a maximum of 2 gb, which is great if you do need a lot more memory on your laptop.
The minimum for most laptops seems to be a 80 gb hard drive. However this dell has a great 120 gb Serial ATA-150 - 5400 rpm hard drive built in. its great to see dell has gone a bit further for their customers and instead of just giving them a basic 80gb hard drive have given them a 120 gb hard drive instead.
This dell has a 3 in 1 card reader, which is a good thing to have, however most laptops now have 5 in 1 and some even are beginning to have 7 in 1 card readers, so the fact that this only has 3 in 1 may be a put off to some people who need to use different cards in their laptop.
This dell has a 15.4 inch wide screen display. It also has active matrix technology, which means that the images are brighter, crisper and it just makes the whole computing experience so much better now. In my opinion, you should now never buy a laptop with out this active matrix technology, or technology like this, because you will be disappointed with it unless it has this.
This a quite a small portable laptop and only weighs 2.8 kegs. I would get this if you want something that's going to last a good few years, and something that runs quite quick too.
Summary: good laptop but pricey
