Advantages: low price and looks good

Disadvantages: on the bulky/heavy side

**THE LOOK**

Although this machine is a bit on the bulky size, weighing in at a middleweight 3.2kg and measuring 36cm wide by 27cm deep and 4cm thick, this laptop looks smart, with its black cover, silver inner lining and its 15.4 inch screen
The keyboard section is laid out with simplicity, not too confusing to the eye, with the power button above it and the touch pad below.

On the left side there lies the heating vents, which never get too hot but simply blow out nice warm air, and not too noisy with it.
Also there is the WiFi sliding switch, which has three functions on the sliding path, on-off and search.
With the microphone and earphone socket the side look neat well organised.
There is also a flat tray like piece of plastic which slides out when a button is pushed, this is the 'express card slot'

On the right side there lies two USB ports, D-sub, Ethernet port, a four pin 'firewire' port and the splendidly useful 8-in-1 cards reader.
Also, there is the DVD drive.

On the back there is a 7-pin S-Video, modem port, the DC-in and a further two USB ports.

On the front lies the speakers and 'media' keys, also an infrared sensor, all neatly edged into the body of the machine.

****SPECIFICATION*****

As the 1520 can be made to order each machine has different specification.

Prices vary but Pc world sell it for around £500 but shop around as it can be found cheaper elsewhere

*CONCLUSION*

The basic spec. model is good for the average surfer and gamer, having enough guts to accommodate for this.
For the more adventurous computer geek, (er..sorry..I mean person) then the higher spec models are worth the extra money.

*DOWNFALLS*

If I had to give a negative on this product then I would have to say that it is a bit on the heavy side, but if you don't intend to cart it around tucked under your armpit all day long then this should not be a problem.

Summary: A nice laptop for the beginner.
