I have owned my dell inspiron 1525 since April 08 and i think it is fantastic. Of course it depends what packages you have on it and who your internet provider is as to how well the computer performs but i have no complaints. The keyboard is smooth, the mouse is really reactive, great for game playing and it is battle hardy, I have a 6 yr old who had dropped it twice and spilt a drink on it and it has survived. I do find the battery runs down quite quickly, i can only get about 2 hours before i have to plug in. The touch panel for music at the top right is useful although the speakers could do with being a little better, i have friends with different laptops that do play music a little louder. Also brilliant that you can purchase this with different cover colours just for a little difference, mine is red and I love it

Summary: wouldn't change it for adifferent brand
