Advantages: attractive design, fairly cheap, enough memory and speed for daily use
Disadvantages: Battery life could be better. Colour option over priced
I've only had a few laptops in my past (most of which have broken due to being in close proximity to my clumsiness) but I would rate the dell inspiron fairly high as a result of it's high performance and sheek design.
When I first ordered this laptop I was quite sceptical after reading some reviews from other dell customers. Hearing that the touch pad wasn't sensitive enough, the hinge was far too delicate and it's performance was slow, I had low expectations. When it finally arrived however (although with poor delivery service after waiting an extra 2 weeks) I was pleasantly surprised.
The touch pad was in perfect condition, the performance of the laptop was above average and I would only consider the hinge to be delicate if I were planning on using it as a piñata.
At first I thought it was to cheap to be able to do all the things I needed and have enough space for me but after purchasing it I cannot understand why they didn't raise the price. Although this is the cheapest laptop I have brought it is by far my favourite so I encourage you not to overspend!
As I cannot call myself an expert on laptops I know little information about the more complicated advantages and disadvantages of the dell inspiron 1525 but I can safely say that those people who need laptops for internet access, games, music etc should consider the inspiron. It's performance is fairly fast as long as you don't over do it with dozens of commands at once. Also, it's memory is suitable for home use.
I should include some disadvantages but i can honestly say it was very difficult to discover any. However, if I could improve anything I would probably have to say more space might be necessary for those people who download a lot of programmes. I would also say that the option of having colour or artwork on the laptop is extremely over priced. An extra £40 to make it look a little bit more pretty is definitely not worth it. I personally love the original colour of black on this laptop (which is free) as it makes it look very sophisticated but everyone's different of course.
Overall I would recommend this laptop to anyone planning on using it for internet access, games, music and anything that does not require a large amount of memory. I would also recommend it to those who do not want to spend a lot of money on a laptop as it's price it very reasonable for it's quality.
Thanks for reading!
