Advantages: Good value and a workhorse
Disadvantages: Bit flimsy
This laptop is pretty average and comes with the usual Windows Vista OS.
It has a tracker pad, which I never use, I opt for a remote mouse generally, I do not like tracker pads.
I installed McAfee on it, as I find AVG is currently the pits and does not keep up with the updates on Firefox.
It has 4 USB ports which are in the right places( I mean that, as my present laptop has a USB stupidly near the power lead so I cannot get the dongle in!)
The battery life does not last long, but I usually have it plugged in anayway.
Windows updates are a pain in the ass and so I set the updates to automatic on pcs, or just remember to do it myself once a week.Oh for a Mac.
I also scan the the laptop regularly and if in doubt I run an anti-malware program or get remote help ( I use Virgin digital), which I have found invaluable.I am inclined to think sometimes that the internet is one big virus, rather than serendipitous.
I use Word a fair bit on this, which I install almost immediately into my pcs.
It depends what you want to do, but this is not the machine for gaming, as it has a low level graphics card and not the fastest processor. I don't play games- I am bor-ing.
It can however, handle multiple simultaneous applications without system freezes.
Summary: A good laptop for everyday use
