Reliable budget laptop (Dell Inspiron 1545)
Member Name: doodlereview
Advantages: Copes well with multiple applications running Disadvantages: Sound often poor I bought the Dell Inspiron laptop a year ago for work purposes, for £349. The laptop was easy to set up, and is easy to use. The standard laptop comes with a decent amount of memory and copes well with long periods of heavy use both in terms of battery life and speed when multiple programmes are in use. Reliability so far is excellent, a miracle considering how often the laptop is running. The sound quality is poor but adequate for general internet purposes - it sounds a bit 'tinny' for music and dvds, but this could be improved with an upgrade or a bit of fiddling with the sound settings which I havent bothered with to any great extent. The picture quality is excellent for a budget laptop and I would recommend it for students and professionals alike so long as only internet and standard data entry/word processing is required. Summary: No frills attached but does the job well
