Dell Inspiron 15R
Advantages: Customizable, good battery life, quick processor, perfect for everyday use
Disadvantages: The touch pad can stick every now and again
I decided to get this dell laptop after doing a LOT of research. I think I made a good decision. This is a great laptop, it is perfect for what I need it for (Using the internet, listening to music, watching DVDs, Microsoft Office, Skype) just the basics. I don't do any high processing activities like playing World of Warcraft or running crazy programmes. All I do is basic stuff.
I love the fact that it is customizable. The lid clicks off and you can switch between different coloured and patterned designs. It makes it feel like a new laptop every time I switch it. I have quite a collection of different ones now! The plain coloured ones are quite cheap to buy about £5-10 each, but the patterned ones can be quite expensive £30-60 ish.
The one and only problem is that it has some sort of touch pad glitch. This is a problem some other users have had. Every now and then the touch pad sticks, so I am stuck in scroll mode, or I loose the mouse, or it double clicks on everything I hover over, or tried to select everything. It does not happen all the time, but enough for me to have noticed. It lasts about 5 minutes then all goes back to normal. Very odd.
Other than that it is perfect for me, the battery life is brilliant, the processing is quick, the set up was straightforward but did take some time to load drivers etc so be prepared to waste a bit of time doing that.
Summary: Perfect laptop for everyday use, love that you can customize it!
