Disadvantages: - Vista installed on it, weight and the touchpad that not always reacts properly

I bought my own Dell inspiron 1720 7-8 months ago and I must say, I LOVE it. My brother also has a Dell Inspiron 9400. Our whole family loves Dell. It has an elegant and fast look, despite the large housing. It is very strong, since it is made from high quality aluminium. I must admit that Dell is probably one of the best companies in making laptops.

The first big advantage of the inspiron 1720 is that it has an extra numeric keypad. This was also one of the points which made me choose a dell, cause a lot of other laptops doesn't have such an onboard keypad. The Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 / 1.8 Ghz processor in combination with the 2 GB Ram, runs really fast. It is even capable for playing heavy games like Farcry, . It also has an enormous 17 inch screen, which is cool for watching video's, playing games.

There are only a few minor problems. First of all there is the slow Vista installed on it. Dell has recently started to sell their computers with linux distributions (free), which I think is again a bonus for Dell. I love it when such an international company promotes free software. The size of the 17 inch screen, makes the laptop a bit heavy, 8.70 pounds. The biggest disadvantage for me is the touchpad. The touchpad often not reacted properly.

All in all, I can say it is again another job well done from Dell!
