I would never, ever recommend a Dell product ever. I bought a laptop for school in June 2012, and by the following month, it wouldn't work. There were multi coloured lines coming up on the screen vertically, and they would change every so often to going horizontal. It would then work for around 5 to 10 minutes, before stopping. I phoned Dell's customer service, and they were NO help what so ever. I was constantly put on hold, and whenever I spoke to someone in their "tech support", they had no idea what I was talking about, and they did not help one bit. The laptop no longer even works for five minutes, so it's completely useless. They wouldn't even fix the laptop for me, so it just sits there after paying three hundred pounds for it. I would not trust any of their products ever again. They were completely useless. Very disappointed in them.
I ordered this laptop in order to take with me to university. I use it primarily for web-browsing and reading pdfs, but also require good audio and video specs for entertainment purposes and light gaming. This laptop has been perfectly suited to all these tasks. The processor packs serious punch, and it has relatively long battery life. The one fault for some may be that it is not very portable. It is a heavy computer, but I have taken it around on a few occasions. I would not, for instance, travel with it - fine to take it to the library or someone else's house, though. I have owned this laptop for a year and cannot report any problems in terms of performance. I have not used the generous warranty I got with it, but I am very comfortable being under a Dell warranty. All in all an excellent computer for someone who doesn't require a super-portable computer, and what's a high-spec laptop for non-gaming purposes. Pros - powerful and fast - sturdy - good battery - good keyboard - perfect screen - quick startup Cons - mediocre track-ad (I use a mouse) - heavy-ish - appearance is nothing special
I have had this computer for close to a month now, and feel it was a great choice. It only cost me 850 dollars for the1TB hard-drive version and so far i have not had many problems. And compared to other computers such as the MacBook and Alien it is a bargain. Saying that though there a couple of things that have annoyed me about the computer. For one the right mouse pad button has started to make a really load clicking noise that really did my head in for a while but i got used to it. I probably just got unlucky now i think about it. Another problem i have had is that at random times it has just decided to shut down on me for no apparent reason, and a blue screen pops up saying its crashed. But other than that there hasn't been many problems. It works at a fast speed almost all of the time, and i rarely find myself waiting for it to load which is a big improvement to my previous computer. It is a pretty good computer for computer games as I didn't experience any problems playing Football Manager 12 and XIII. The webcam and speakers work very well, which i know from using Skype, didn't experience much lagging and am very clear to the other person. One tip when buying a dell computer is to make sure to do it online, as they generally have offers and you can find promotion codes on the internet or their website to decrease the price of your purchase. One last thing, the battery life; its lasts around 2 and a half hours when fully charged was expecting more but then again it is a 17 inch computer. It charges very fast which makes the battery life a small problem.
Any product from the entire Dell Inspiron range could be classified as a safe choice. Why? Because the Dell Inspiron series is a series of laptops that can be relied upon. Firstly, the hardware's aesthetics. Although many laptops can be bought in several different colours, the Dell Inspiron allows the owner to choose from a wide range of interchangeable lids. This gives your laptop an individual feel, and you can rest safe in the knowledge that if your tastes change, so can the design on your laptop lid. From swirly fuschia to porcelain white with a silver design, there is a style for everyone. Also, the overall build is good. Curved and with no sharp angles, it is comfortable to hold and work around. Added feature of a built-in webcam. Secondly, the screen is very large and shows the picture clearly. With an adjustable back-light and decent viewing angles, the screen can adapt for many viewing situations. The speakers are relatively small and can be a little muffled as they are hidden away under the laptop so external speakers are recommended for the best sound. Thirdly, the keyboard is really well set out. The keys are a fairly small with relatively big gaps between, which makes mistakes in typing rare. The keyboard layout is standard and simple to understand. Finally, the performance is really good. The processor allows it to switch on fast and run quickly. Also, the laptop barely makes a sound in its use (asides from any music etc. you might be playing, of course).
When I went to look for a new laptop to suit my requirements I noticed the DELL INSPIRON which caught my attention straight away! I fell in love with it's design and the colours that make it stand out! It has a shiny black frame and shiny silver keyboard! My previous laptop had to go because of the weird noises and sounds it was making! As I'm an office worker, I need a good laptop to get my everyday tasks completed like writing letter and producing presentations. This laptop makes everything so much smoother and faster unlike an older laptop! The web browser is super quick and the INSPIRON never crashes or stops responding! The things that attracted me to the laptop were: Appearance As I mentioned, the design and colour stands right out! When you usually buy a laptop, it's just a plain silver or a black but not the INSPIRON! Size & Weight The size of the laptop is just right. Even though it's quite big in size, it's not heavy at all to carry around. I find this really handy when carrying it around in a bag! Reliability You can always trust the INSPIRON not to crash or stop responding when you've got quite a few applications open or when your completing a big written task! Picture Quality and Graphics The graphics on the INSPIRON are amazing! Perfect for showing photo sideshows or showing videos on a screen! Its also great for watching movies online! So there you've heard it! If you need a reliable and budget - friendly laptop then buy your DELL INSPIRON today!
This has been my personal laptop for over 6 months now, and not once has it had any of those annoying 'teething problems' no crashes, no freezing, no slow running, and no scary bleeps upon start up. Lets start at the basics, full 'QWERTY' keyboard, comfortable and easy to type keys. (my kids find it easy too) Surrounded by a brushed alloy surround, which looks more professional than £1000+ competitors or Macs, it really is stunning. It is fantastic at multitasking, for example, if you are running an internet browser along with word, media player, itunes etc, it will take it all in its stride. The 3gb of RAM is more than sufficient and you will struggle to max it! The 17" HD screen is stunning, watching HD Youtube videos, or BBC I player HD, has never looked so good, very vibrant. DVDs look amazing on this system too! I use my Inspiron for work, recording music, research, email, downloading Movies, listening to music and it performs every time. The HD Realtek speaker system, located tidily under the front of the beautifully curved, are superbly loud! (with no distortion) Don't be afraid to turn it up to the maximum, the loudest laptop I have heard. A selling point for any TV or film fan, if you use BBC I player, or watching any internet Television/Movies, there is an HDMI output, which duplicates your screen onto your HD Television, this is something me and my Girlfriend find ourselves doing every night! (When there is nothing on) The only negative I can mention is the battery life when not plugged it. If you are watching Movies, and using the speakers, you are looking at 3 hours tops, but this is to be expected when you consider it is a very powerful desktop replacement, and therefore it was designed to perform best when plugged in. However, the chord is more than long enough to stretch in front of the TV when using the HDMI, and there are battery saving options which will prolong your battery when not plugged in. If your looking for a superbly priced desktop replacement computer, look no further, I brought this from Dell 6 months ago for £499 in the sale, and to still find it at that price it is a no brainer! I will always use Dell from now on.
